Committed to Communicating with
the Community...
Thank
you voters! I am pleased to become your newest representative on the Governing Board of the Tempe Union
High School District. Your voice is needed to preserve and promote the excellence of Tempe Union High School education; I look forward
to working with you and to earning your trust and providing the responsiveness that parents, students, teachers,
staff, and taxpayers deserve. Congratulations to our committed community for passing the bond and override measures that will help accomplish
our goals in the years to come, and thank you to every voter who decided that providing quality education is one of the most
important things we will ever do as a community. Special thanks to everyone who worked so hard on the Yes-Yes-Yes Save
our Schools PAC - well done! Thank you isn't enough to say to Sam Holdren, my running-mate, Ben McCawley, my campaign manager, Anna Chalmers,
Mary Wolf Francis, and all the parents and teachers who have been involved in the Corona Clean Air issues all year.
It was each of you who encouraged me to run, and Sam who did it beside me every step and every door we knocked on together.
Ben made it his personal mission to make this campaign successful and spends more hours than anyone I know working to improve
our schools - he is a role model for all parents. Thank you to each of you for everything you have done and
everything you do every day, for me and for our schools.

What qualifies me to serve on this board beyond my status as an involved and caring district parent?
For nearly thirty years I have worked in facilities management, caring for office, retail and warehouse space, and
tens of thousands of apartment homes. Our schools are the home away from home for our teachers and students,
and caring for those facilities and the district budget is a big job. In fact, in each board agenda, the
majority of votes relate to contracts, facilities, personnel, and business policies. As Senior Vice President
for Greystar Real Estate Partners, the buck stops at my desk every day when it comes to the technology, human resources, risk
management, administration, training and education of 840 facilities staff working on nearly $3 billion in real estate assets.
We need to prepare our
students today for the realities of the 21st century by upgrading our technology initiatives. We
need to recruit the best teachers with competitive compensation, utilize them through collaboration, and retain them by keeping
our promises.
No one on the ballot brings the business experience I do.
No other candidate is the parent of a current district student. No one else serving Tempe Union
will care more about the final fix and testing of Corona and ensuring that every campus is safe for students and staff and
that they have the resources they need and deserve. I look forward to serving on this board and holding
our fine district accountable on behalf of the entire community.
